Robert Page – Executive Producer

Robert is delighted to be releasing the single ‘If We Only Have Love’ by Jacques Brel, In aid of Childline.

Robert is no stranger to the recording industry, having been a former PYE Records/ATV International record executive.  40 years ago he heard the recording of Jacques Brels’ classic and always knew that he would love to record it, but he needed a cause.

Five years ago, Childline were celebrating their 25th Anniversary and it was then he found his cause.  Too late for that anniversary he embarked on what can only be considered a labour of love and this year put together with the help of crowdfunding, a one off ‘Fabulous Afternoon’ at the Arts Theatre in London’s West End, to raise the money required, to record the single for Childline’s 30th Anniversary.

Robert needed someone who could take his vision and make it a reality.

Top West End Musical Director, Jae Alexander, took Roberts vision and enlisted top producer and music arranger, Matthew Brind and Vocal arranger Annie Skates.

Robert said:

“I am absolutely delighted with the finished recording, it has exceeded far beyond what I had imagined. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Jae Alexander, whom without I would still only have a vision.  Jae has been central to bringing together the entire project.  Bringing together the talents of Matthew Brind, producer/music arranger and Annie Skates, for her beautiful vocal arrangements. Amanda West who has worked tirelessly with me since ‘Fabulous Afternoon’, where she was MD, and on this project as Production Co-ordinator. To all of the West End Stars, who gave of their vocal talents and time freely; reminding me just why West End Musical Theatre remains the best in the world, thank you. The talented pupils from Sylvia Young Theatre School, who performed with the kind permission, of Sylvia Young OBE. The entire team at Dean St. Studios, who looked after us so well. Thanks also to Facebook admins from The Musical Theatre Appreciation Society, who have been busy editing interviews that were carried out by them on the recording date and producing a video. I hope that this raises a huge amount for Childline”.
